Hospital has 720 vaccines collected after conservation problem

A power outage, for a few minutes, is the probable cause of the problem in vaccine storage in a hospital in Bonsucesso, RJ.

As they are not stored in scientific chambers equipped with an Emergency System, 720 doses of CoronaVac were exposed to a temperature above the range of 2°C to 8°C. The vaccines were collected by the city of Rio de Janeiro and undergo an evaluation by the Butantan Institute, following the guidelines of the National Immunization Program.

The importance of the Emergency System

To avoid this type of problem, Biotecno vaccine conservation smart cameras can have energy backup for up to 72 hours, technology that prevents this type of loss, maintains the integrity of the vaccines and guarantees the success of immunizations. After all, the damage done to a vaccine that has fallen outside the temperature range is not noticeable to the naked eye. The Emergency System, an innovation developed by Biotecno, is automatically activated by the camera in cases of power failure in the commercial network, or even in cases of overvoltage and undervoltage (half phase). With this, the chamber remains in full operation, within the range of 2°C to 8°C. In addition, if there is a risk of any temperature deviation, for example, reaching 7.5°C, the camera will automatically issue alerts, with alarms, by phone or via the internet, so that preventive actions can be taken.

The chamber that preserved the first CoronaVac in Brazil

A vaccine is made with the most advanced technology. Its conservation, too. Registered with the Brazil Ministry of Health, ANVISA and the North American FDA, Biotecno is the chamber that stored the first dose of CoronaVac applied in Brazil. And you can have the same technology at your vaccine clinic or pharmacy. Get to know our equipment and contact our consultants to choose the ideal model for you.
