Brazilian National Immunization Program completes 47 years since its approval

Offering all vaccines with quality to the Brazilian population is the main objective of the program

Vaccines are essential to stimulate the immune system to protect the body against communicable diseases. In order to offer all of them to the Brazilian population, on September 18, 1973, during a meeting in Brasília, the National Immunization Program (PNI) was approved. Year by year it has advanced to provide better quality of life to the population with prevention. In all, 19 vaccines are available in the immunization routine, whose protection starts in newborns and can extend throughout life.

Through the program, the Ministry of Health distributes, annually, free of charge, more than 300 million doses of immunobiologicals in the more than 42 thousand routine public vaccination posts across the country.

On average, 110 million doses of routine vaccine are applied each year (this figure does not include the other doses applied in seasonal campaigns, such as influenza or measles).

PNI is currently part of the World Health Organization Program, with technical, operational and financial support from UNICEF and contributions from Rotary International and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

As a provider of innovation for the cold chain, Biotecno is actively involved in the health segment. For this reason, we recognize and value all efforts in favor of vaccination - public and private. No let the expectation of the new vaccine make you forget all the others. For a healthy life it is essential to keep your family vaccines up to date, at any age.
