The difference between the emergency system and the parallel temperature control

Medical equipment is totally dependent on electricity to function. In the event of a power cut, these devices stop working, putting the lives of the patients who depend on them at risk.

We understand how annoying, frustrating and desperate it is when the power goes out. It's even more desperate when it happens in the healthcare sector, which can have serious consequences for patients.

Medical equipment is totally dependent on electricity to function. In the event of a power cut, these devices stop working, putting the lives of the patients who depend on them at risk.

For medicines and vaccines that require refrigeration, the lack of electricity can lead to the inactivation of the active ingredients. These supplies need to be stored under specific temperature conditions. Without adequate refrigeration, they can deteriorate and become unusable, posing a health risk.

For this reason, we created an emergency system capable of keeping the chamber running for long periods, which has become a trend and a standard for the segment. This technology was created more than 18 years ago to reduce the negative consequences of this situation, and today it has become standard in the specifications of this kind of equipment.

In addition to the emergency system, Biotecno® equipment has a temperature control installed in parallel to the main control. This system automatically takes over the temperature control of the chamber in the event of a failure in the main control system, truly acting as a "guardian angel".

The electricity backup consists of sealed or stationary batteries that keep the chamber fully operational for up to 72 hours, including the refrigeration compressor. Parallel temperature control is an additional safety feature, capable of taking over the chamber when the electrical and electronic controls fail. To make an analogy, it's like an aircraft that has two engines; if one of them fails, the other automatically kicks in. In addition, this system also has exclusive software for extracting performance reports with encrypted data that allows proof that the material was stored at the correct temperature, even if the main control malfunctions. Going back to the airplane analogy, if an engine stops working, the aircraft won't crash.

In other words, the Emergency System is able to keep the chamber running for long periods in the event of a power failure. As an additional safety feature, the Parallel Control system automatically takes over the chamber's temperature control in the event of a failure in the main control system.

To avoid any problems, it's best to ensure the quality of your equipment. If you would like more information just click on the floating WhatsApp button in the bottom right corner of the screen. We're always happy to answer your questions!
